o   Ch. 14 (“Authors. . .” pp. 316-331)
c                      Be prepared to discuss Warriors Don’t Cry
c       POST a biography, autobiography, or memoir for your unit plan
c                    Read your unit blog members posting and provide feedback
c                    View Kelli Newman’s Presentation
c                  Give Kelli feedback

F      Finish Discussion Started Last Week (Day 9 Blog)

c                  Listen to the poem being read by the author of a Wreath for Emmett Till (Day 9 Blog)              
c              Choose your favorite verse (page).
c             Type it into the Google Document (link is found on Day 9 Blog)
c            In the section titled “explain,” explain why the verse/page selection was    meaningful to you.
c              Read/think about at least four other favorite passages written in the Google          Document by classmates
c    Write a comment/response in the “comment/response” section to the four people that you have chosen.
c     Hold an online group discussion.  On the Day 9 Blog discuss the reading, video watched, audio recording, and what was pointed to on the Google Document with your literature group.  It might be helpful to print a hardcopy of the Google Document.

  • c  View the 3 photographs on Day 10 Blog and post a response
  • c  Online Literature Group Discussion- See directions on the Day 10 Blog
  • c  Please bring the popcorn discussion page emailed to you as an attachment.

  • c     Bring at least one good nonfiction book for your unit to share.   Be prepared to discuss the accuracy, content, style, organization, illustrations of your book.  Basically, be prepared to discuss what makes the book you’ve chosen a high quality nonfiction book.
